Ride A Pet Wiki

Free eggs and Robux eggs are not the same object

Almost every guide to this game writes one egg list and then adds prices to part of it, which produces contradictions like an egg being both free and 99 Robux. In the game there are two separate systems. Map eggs spawn in the world, get carried home on your head, and hatch on a timer in a nest. Shop eggs are a gacha roll that hatches instantly and is the only part of the game with published odds. What you buy in the shop is the odds plus the convenience of skipping the carrying loop.

Map eggs

S4 Single source

Each egg tier keeps a fixed number of spawn points alive at once. That is the design decision that makes the map interesting: a rarer egg is not only luckier, there are physically fewer of it in the world, so a route has to be planned rather than ground out. A restock is announced to everyone in the server at the same moment.

The eggs that get announced

Three named eggs sit outside the ordinary tier ladder. The Blackhole Egg is the one people search for, partly because it is announced to the whole server when it appears.

Nest families by biome

Nest families are grouped by the biome they sit in and roughly by how far you have to travel to reach them, which is really a statement about how fast a mount you need first. Eggs are graded S4 because a single fansite is the only source describing the families.

How map eggs actually behave

spawn
Eggs appear at fixed points. Each egg type has a fixed number of simultaneously active spawn points.
restock
A server-wide message announces that eggs have been restocked. The gear shop keeps a separate and independently timed restock.
rare Announce
Rare spawns are broadcast to all six players in the server.
carry
A picked-up egg rides on your character's head with its name and clover value visible to the whole server. Press E to place it.
hatch
Hatching happens in a nest on your plot, where hatch luck applies.
break Timer
A break timer runs on carried eggs. DURATION IS NOT PUBLISHED ANYWHERE RELIABLE, so this site does not state a number.
rarity Lock
Rarity is decided when the egg is picked up, not when it hatches. The hatch screen only reveals what the egg already was.
rarity Signal
The hatch screen border colour is the only reliable rarity signal. Nest colour is a hint only.

These mechanics are graded S4 from rideapetroblox.wiki egg locations page, checked 2026-09-17. The break timer duration is deliberately absent: no source states it, so neither do we.

Shop eggs

S4 Single source

Both shop eggs are flagged Instant Hatch. No nest, no timer. This is the only way in the game to skip the carry-home loop, and what you are buying with Robux is the convenience plus the odds. There is no pity system.

  • Dragon at 1 percent means a 50-roll pack still has a 60 percent chance of missing it.
  • Three 50-roll packs cost 10,497 Robux and still expect more misses than hits.
  • T-Rex at 15 percent means a 10-roll pack lands at least one about 80 percent of the time.

Published odds

The in-game panel publishes no per-pet odds for this egg. It only says it hatches a random HUGE pet. HUGE pets are enlarged versions of regular pets. Per project rules, no odds are invented here and the page states plainly that none are published.

What we are not publishing, and why

No total egg count appears on this page. The three available counts describe different things, and a reader who acts on the wrong one wastes a session. The break timer duration is absent because no source states it. The Giant Egg has no odds because the game itself does not publish any. Each of those gaps is a place where a competing guide would have invented a number.

Grading scale: Read directly from an official API or a developer-published asset. Only one source reports this. The source is attributed on the page. Not established. No value is published, only how it could be established.

Common questions

How many egg types does Ride A Pet have?
We are not publishing a total, and that is deliberate. One source counts nine egg types from the in-game Index, another lists eight nest families, and a third has twenty-four individual egg pages. Those are three different ways of sorting the same system, not three answers to one question, and no source can show its working. The total gets published once the Index Eggs tab has been read off a gameplay frame.
Do eggs cost money?
Map eggs do not. They are found in the world and carried home, so the real cost is travel time, nest space and the break timer. Shop eggs cost Robux. A guide that says eggs are free is describing half the game.
What is the best egg to hatch?
For volume, a common tier egg. Thirty of them are live at once, so the eggs per hour is far higher than anything rarer. For value, the rare tiers are worth detouring for, but only if your mount can actually reach them before the next restock.
Are the Dragon Egg odds worth it?
The odds are public and they are honest, which makes the maths easy. Dragon is 1 percent, so a 50 roll pack still misses it about 60 percent of the time. Three of those packs cost 10,497 Robux and still expect more misses than hits.
